July 1, 2006 Heber, AZ
Better late than never. Here is our contribution from the 4th of July...
Who is that blue-eyed devil, with that "come hither" stare?

(l-r) Court, Nate, Troy and Tiffany

Which family is most likely to make the cover of the Saturday Evening Post?
The Marx family (led by Michael's flag shirt)?

Survival Man 2006.

This weekend is probably the last chance we will have to get out of town before school starts. Aubrey and Emiliegh are going up to the cabin. Where will Drew and I be? That's a great question.
We will be surviving on our own in the forest, miles away from any civilization, and without any gear. We get dropped off Saturday morning and will hike back to the cabin on Sunday afternoon. The only thing I get to bring is a knife, a fishing pole, and some matches. This weekend I will be a mountain man. It seems that I shaved my beard a little too soon.

Pacifier pinata

Here is another picture I thought I would share. This game lasted us almost the full 12 hours on the way home from Utah. It started because I got a little sick (literally) of turning around and digging for a dropped pacifier. So I tied it to a string and then got a little creative. Nathan thought it was hysterical and enjoyed pulling the string a couple of times.

It is mid-july and not too early to begin thinking about Christmas! We know that our kids have begun to want to establish their own little family Christmas Eve traditions and respect that. Accordingly, we will hold the Carter Christmas Family Home Evening on Monday, December 18. That will be our night to have a little family celebration and then it leaves you free to make your own plans if you want. We will be here on Christmas eve as well, but know that if we party that night--some of you will have plans.
Merry Christmas!

Fiesta Olé!

We hope you can all be present when Adeline Elle Carter is blessed this Sunday at the El Dorado ward. The building is at 2202 N 74th St. in Scottsdale, and the services start at 1:00 p.m. You are all also invited to a fiesta after where we will be celebrating both Addie's blessing and Carl's birthday. It will be held at Carl & Brooke's home Sunday at 5:00 p.m.
You'll have to forgive this "sweetest photo crop ever". I'm very limited in my resources at present. But, in my opinion, nothing says "Olé!" like a really badly edited photo.

Poppie's newzzzzz
Whomever wants to play lumberjack on Saturday, we are having a railroad tie removal party. We need to get the ties out of our yard and to the front of the house to have the removed in order to get the landscapers to bring in new plans for a wonderful yard. We are excited about the prospect of shade, greener grass, flowers, vegetables, hummingbirds, sweet birds singing and music ringing through the grove. It will be a shady woodland indeed.
Plans are in the process now and work will begin in a couple of weeks. We should have a yard worthy of the high esteem we have of ourselves. I am using the ATV's to pull them out if anyone wants to play. Look out, Earl, our yard will become the envy of the neighborhood.
By the way, if anyone wants the old washing machine and freezer we store in the front yard, come and get them.

There is a new Karaoke system at the Carter home. All are invited to select from the 1700 songs and belt one out. We think we can make a CD and peddle it on the internet. We have the talent, just need a CD cover and a name for CD.
Suggestions, anyone? Anything to do with "corn-cob" is out, as that was our theme for Christmas a couple of years back.

July 15 is coming sooner than you think. Here is some good advice for all:
1. Spend any amount you wish (except Brooke) but keep your gift a secret.
2. Do not worry about how much your gift to me will cost. I will be the judge if you are cheap or not.
3. Make it special. If is something that I want, I will let you know. If not, well.....
4. It is not necessarily true that the more you spend, the more you love me. However, I will take that under advisement.
5. You are a dummy if you spend more than $5. There are plenty of nifty giffs for $5 or under.

The Grand Finale.
This is the last minute or so of the Idaho Falls fireworks show. It was quite the entertaining event. Those Idahoans love the USA. My only complaint is that they seem to have left Neil Diamond off the play list.
