Yesterday I went to Fashion Square Mall and got a parking spot after 20 minutes of driving around and circling 2 parking garages.....Now I know why. Thought you would all like to have a little more knowledge on the subject.
Today is the anniversary of the signing of the armistice that ended World War I. It is both a federal holiday and a state holiday in all states. All major hostilities of World War I were formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918 with the German signing of the armistice. Armistice Day was first commemorated in the United States by President Woodrow Wilson in 1919, and many states made it a legal holiday. Congress passed a resolution in 1926 inviting all Americans to observe the day and made it a legal holiday nationwide in 1938.
The day has since evolved as a time for honoring living veterans who have served in the military during wartime or peacetime, partially to complement Memorial Day, which primarily honors the dead. There has been some discussion of whether a person's veteran status depends upon his/her retirement or discharge from any of the armed forces. However, the term applies to any that have honorably served their country or that have served in a war zone as directed by their superior officers or as directed by lawful orders given by their country.

The man who delivered the declaration of war to Kaiser Wilhelm was from St. Johns.
I should've gotten a paid day off...
Also, did you try the parking garage under the new Borders? That one is usually an untapped parking gold mine. If IT was full, that mall must have been really packed.
Robyn and I walked around the new Waterfront shops on Saturday evening. There is a little market/restaurant that has great gelato and lemon bars. We should all go sometime!
Bike ride!
About the parking, we actually found a spot on the street by the olive and ivy restaurant (where we got the gelato and lemon bars). We looked at all the cars on the way out and realized that we were parked amidst a lambergenie, 4 beamers, 3 jags, and 2 bentleys.
One of of these cars was not like the others. . .
. . . one of these cars just isnt the same.
Great bike ride. There were several conveniently located bike racks.
It was definitely the self-park lot. However, it was surface parking, so all of the people looking for recognition for driving high-profile cars must like those spaces. Robyn also forgot to mention the myriad of hummer limos there that night...
That's cute that you guys went out for a prom date, like the high school kids.
How much was your hummer limo, by the way?
